Government of Odisha revised the minimum wages of employees employed in 91 employments

The Labour and ESI Department, Odisha on September 30, 2024, issued a notification regarding the revised minimum rates of wages payable to Unskilled, Semiskilled, Skilled, and Highly Skilled categories of employees employed in 91 employments.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The minimum wages rates of wages have been revised that is payable to Unskilled, Semiskilled, Skilled, and Highly Skilled categories of employees employed in 91 employments.
• In addition to the said rates of wages, Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) of ₹2 per day, effective from October 1, 2024. This adjustment, based on a 0.8 point rise in the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers, applies to unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and highly skilled employees across 91 scheduled employments in Odisha.
• Name of Employment is as namely: -
o Agriculture
o Agarbati and Candle making Worker’s Establishments
o Bamboo Forest Establishments
o Clay Pottery
o Hotels, Eating Houses and Restaurants
• The minimum rates of wages are all-inclusive rates including the basic rates, the cost of living allowances, and the cash value of the concessional supply if any of the essential commodities
• The daily minimum rates of wages shall be inclusive of wages payable for the weekly day of rest.
This shall come into force on October 01, 2024.
