Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Second Amendment Rules, 2024

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) on November 12, 2024, issued the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Second Amendment Rules, 2024 to further amend the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Rule 40 which states “Action for contravention” has been substituted namely: -

“Any person who fails to comply or contravenes the provisions of these rules shall be liable to a penalty in accordance with the provisions of section 15 of the Act.”

• Rule 11 which states “Action for contravention” has been substituted namely: -

“Any person who fails to comply or contravenes the provisions of these rules shall be liable to a penalty in accordance with the provisions of section 15 of the Act.”

This shall come into force on November 12, 2024
